About the Programme

A Proof-of-Concept Accelerator programme that are aimed to commercialised TRL-7 rated prototypes into the market with the aim of securing market adoption for the technology.

This requires up to 9 months participant commitments and it is supported by business mentoring, workshops, proof-of-concept to commercialised technology deployment in real world environment and market access support for the technology.

This programme is NOT for solutions that are already in the market or commercialised.

PARTICIPATION CRITERIA AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Technology must fall under the targeted technology verticals.
  • Technology must at the minimum prototype rating of TRL-7 or MVP Stage ready for demonstration in an operational environment.
  • Technology that is relevant to address innovation challenges in Southeast Asia or Asia not just local.
  • Technology must demonstrate strong scientific proof of impact at TRL-7 prototype stage
  • Technology must come with impact measurement to demonstrate its potential effectiveness.
  • Technology must not run a fould with any regulations.
  • Intellectual property for the technology must be registered and owned by the applicant company.

Stage 1: APPLICATION

Submit your participation application via this website and wait for the 1st stage selection process for the next Stage

Stage 2: POC Matching

Pitch your technology to a Proof-of-Concept Sponsor which is a company that allowed you to trial its technology viability for commercialisation in a real world environment. At the end of this stage you will be matched with a POC Sponsor.

Stage 3: Prototype Deployment

Consultation, mentoring and navigation of required protocols, your technology prototype will be deployed in a real world environment for a minimum period of 3 months where you will gather performance data and improve the technology towards being commercially ready by the end of this stage. At this stage you will received support from your POC sponsors and program facilitators.

Stage 4: Business Venture Development

At this stage you will go through a series of workshops and activities that will help your company to define your business model, commercialisation roadmap and market development plans for the immediate future. You will also learn about engaging investors and preparation on investment pitching.

Stage 5: POC Completion and Investor Pitching

Your technology will complete its Proof-of-Concept trial with your POC Sponsors. Historically in this programme, strong companies are able to push the technology to commercialisation usually being adopted by the POC Sponsor through a commercial arrangement thus securing customers for the technology. Selected high performance companies will have a chance to pitch to a group of investors in the coming Startup Venture Vibe Summit in Penang.

Note: For Out-of-State and Foreign Companies or Startups keen to participate please bear in mind your participation will not be sponsored by the Penang State Govt and a fee of RM8,000 will be charged once you accept into Stage 3.
